While looking at web pictures of dealership inventory for ATS-Vs, I stumbled across this pic of the interior of said Super Baby Caddy. Who can tell me what’s wrong here?

I’m sorry, but is Bluetooth not a thing anymore?!?! Is this photo from 2008?! Does anyone actually plug a damned iPod into their BRAND NEW car anymore?!?! Or is this just an example of how technophobic baby boomers listen to music? You know, because their flip phones don’t have enough memory to carry all their favorite Beach Boy jams?

It's tech. I also don't own any floppy disks any more.

It probably has bluetooth, as well as usb, as well as an aux cable. My car has all three. The real problem I see (which I thought you were implying) is that it is an auto and not a manual.

My friend who’s interested in this vehicle wants an auto. He won't be tracking it, just using it for a road rally later this year and as a weekend toy.

I was just kidding. But personally I’d like a stick (not for track).

Yes. In fact, when I get my new car, I will make a post complaining about it not having an aux input. Though if the ATS has one, the Camaro might have one as well. The FiST does not though.

My iPhone has plenty of battery life. Unless I'm constantly surfing this site, then I'm screwed.

May not be a boomer. We would still be looking for the slot for a cassette tape.

Hey! Flip phones are able to hold microSD cards, mine hold up to 32 gigs on top of the internal storage. Try that with your iphone.

The only thing I miss about flip phones is how I could slam them shut after an aggravating call.

I plugged my ancient iPod into the USB port of my Focus ST when I got it 2 years ago. Been there ever since. Gives me access to a huge library that I can control with the car’s controls, and better audio quality than Bluetooth.

So I’m OK with wires, this is just the wrong type of (3.5mm audio).

When I bought my brand new Mazda 2 (2012) it didn’t come with bluetooth (touring trim too), and my 2011 128i doesn’t have it either. Both had aux cable hookups and they always worked just fine.

I like buttons and carrying the phone in my pocket. It also saves me from kinja, as opera is apparently not a supported browser.

This is great. I have a decade old 30gb iPod with all my tunes on it for which this is a bit of a requirement. Beats filling my phone with music I already have stored on something else. If it ain’t broke and so on...

It’s not entirely clear that Kinja really supports any browser. I’m currently using Edge, because it is somewhat less broken there than in Chrome or Firefox. That still leaves plenty of room for bugs though.

I plug my iPod classic into my ‘15 BRZ. I have 250GB of music (upgraded HD t0 a Samsung SSD). Now I have all my music on the go.

Occasionally I’ll use bluetooth for spotify, but rarely.

As much as I like the idea of Bluetooth, hooking up to a USB cable can be far easier in practice. For example, my parents’ 2014 Forester has both, but I find the USB cable much faster and more user-friendly since I drive their car only occasionally. If it were my own car, then I might take the extra time (minutes, not seconds) to read the manual and connect using Bluetooth.

2015 did, 2016 does not. With Sync 3 they just added 2 USB's.

hmm, good to know. I know there are a few cars out there now that have phased out the AUX port, but it always seemed a little premature to do that. It’s honestly the easiest way to play music from your (or anyone else in the car) phone/iPod without having to deal with pairing or going through the console interface to work it.

It’s not that bad... Ok, maybe it is. Though I’m still using my old 256kb microSD card that I bought 10 years ago, because I’d have no other use for it if I got another one and I paid $50 for it.
